Objectives
Enhance STEM Education at under-resourced educational institutions in Africa
- To promote scientific thought and endeavour through promotion and support for teaching and academic learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects at secondary schools and universities in Africa.
- Provision of scientific equipment, training, and capacity development to institutions, STEM teachers and their support staff, and students, who would otherwise not have access to these resources and academic opportunities.
- Provision of support to African students pursuing STEM academic studies, who may otherwise lack the means, with resources and support that enhances the prospect of their reaching their full potential academically and professionally.
Address Global Environmental Challenges
- Where appropriate, repurpose suitable donated surplus or underutilized scientific and IT equipment from industry, universities, institutions, and as well as individuals, to fulfil the organization’s purpose, thereby helping reduce e-waste in accordance with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13 – promoting sustainable practices and climate action.
Enhance Teacher and Student Capabilities
- Provide responsive training, development, and ongoing support to teachers, their support staff, and students, on the effective use of scientific and IT equipment as well as methods of teaching and learning.
- Promote sustainable practices within the STEM educational context in Africa.
Promote Long-term Impact and Sustainability
- Develop and implement sustainable practices for the use and maintenance of scientific and IT equipment.
- Advocate for policies that support STEM education in Africa, and sustainable practices
- including reduction and recycling of e-waste.
